“Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord,
which he will work for you today...The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” - Exodus 14:13-14 "Thus says the Lord...who created you...who formed you, 'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God...you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you...Fear not, for I am with you" ~ Isaiah 43:1-5 I love this Scripture for many reasons. First, God's affirming that He created me and formed me - that's a personal God talking, not a God who's far away and doesn't care about what's going on with me. Second, He's assuring me that I don't need to fear because He's redeemed me, saved me, called me, and I. AM. HIS! That's huge! I'm God's daughter! Third, He's with me - always...in the water, in the river, in the fire, in the flame. He promises they won't overwhelm me, burn me, or consume me. Why? Because He's walking before me and with me (Deuteronomy 31:6, 8)! Last, He says that I am precious, honored, and loved! What more could I want? Last year I started journaling things I'm thankful for, based on Ann Voskamp's book "One Thousand Gifts". I ended up finding 1,142 gifts over the course of the year!! So, this year I'm going to blog each Saturday some of the things I found to be grateful/thankful for each week.
Today's post is a list of the non-fiction books I want to read this year. I don't have to be intentional about reading fiction so I'm not going to list those. My goal is to read 52 non-fiction books this year. I'm not sure if I'll accomplish that but I'm going to do my best.
